After more than a week of rest and medication (and not running at all), I think I'm well enough (the coughing is almost gone) to go back to training again for my next road race.
So, this morning and the next couple of days, I will try to do 30 minute walks at the least to get the feet and leg muscles working again. After this, I intend to walk run,
and then by the weekend, a 5k run should be easily doable.
Missed running the Scotiabank Toronto half marathon on September 26, but these road races are always there, and my running life goes on.
Thinking about running the 5k race at the Toronto Marathon weekend in October or the 10k Zoo run. The shorter distance races should get me into the groove again.
You are wise to get back into the loop slowly but surely.
ReplyDeletePraying that God will continue to give you the strength and stamina that you need...especially in this season when you are still grieving a big loss.
Our God is a Strong Tower. Take heart.
Blessings!
Get strong soon bro! Was in your neighborhood to run the Toronto Waterfront last weekend...did it in 4:18 but it could have been a sub-4 if not for the cramps...Anyway, now back to Pinas with sore legs and all....
ReplyDeleteHope you're back in shape, Bong. Sorry, nagluluko ang magicJack ko. Nakakatawag pero paputul-putol ang linya. Will call you as soon as it gets back to normal.
ReplyDeleteTake it slow OK?

ReplyDeletethat's one attitude most newbies could learn from you, bong. as i said in a comment on another runner friend's blog post, i can just shake my head at the gung-ho attitude of some -doing too much too soon, shunning rest despite an injury because "sayang ang miles." sayang ang running pag hindi ka na naka-recover from your injury. it's not easy to stop, but we must at times so that we can keep on going. welcome back and run safe always.
